Iowa Lakes 82 Southeastern 79

The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team moved to 5-3 on the season with a 82-79 road win vs. Southeastern Community College.

After trailing by as much as 7 and by 5 with 1 minute and 30 seconds left. The Lakers found themselves tied with 24 seconds left and possession of the ball. With 12 seconds left the Lakers ran a play for Dennis Joiner in which he sank a 3 pointer to put the Lakers up 82-79. Southeastern would dribble the length of the floor and shoot a contested 3 pointer which fell short as time expired.
Joiner led the way scoring 20 points. Also scoring in double figures for the Lakers was sophomore point guard Joe Binyoti with 16 points. Cody Cox added 11 and Mitch Keller had 10.
Southeastern was led by Rayford Albright with 19 points.
 
The Lakers out rebounded Southeastern 35 to 27 and shot 60% from the floor in the 2nd half to get the come from behind victory.
 
"Our guys showed a great winning spirit down the stretch and It's always good to beat a team of Southeastern' s prestige at home" said Laker Head Coach Troy Larson.
 
The Lakers will host Dakota Wesleyan's JV on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm in Laker Gymnasium.
