Estherville, Iowa – Friday, February 10, 2017 

Iowa Lakes Basketball will play Ellsworth Community College (ECC) Panthers on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM. 

The Men's Basketball team completed a two game road trip where they defeated both Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) and Little Priest Tribal College (LPTC). 

This past Tuesday, the Lakers traveled to Council Bluffs, IA to face NJCAA Division 1 opponent IWCC Reivers.  Freshman forward, Jaylon Tapplar, led Iowa Lakes Community College with 20 points and 14 rebounds.  Sophomore point guard, Tywon Bressler Jr., made the game winning shot to give the Lakers a 77-74 victory.  He finished with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.  The Lakers then traveled to Winnebago, NE the to play LPTC. 

The Lakers were able to pull off victory against the Warriors despite back to back games.  Dennis Joiner led the way with 27 points on shooting 11-17 from the field and 5-8 from the 3-point arch.  The Lakers defeated LPTC Warriors 107-83. 

Currently, the Lakers are 15-7 overall and 3-3 in ICCAC conference play.  The Lakers have 5 players averaging double digits in points per game.  Cody Cox and Kyle Beisch are averaging 14.8 and 14.5 ppg.  Dennis Joiner is averaging 13 ppg.  Sophomores Mitch Keller and Tywon Bressler Jr., are averaging 10.7 and 10.1 ppg respectively.

Conference opponent Ellsworth defeated the Lakers, 84-80, previously this year at Iowa Falls.  Ellsworth is 11-12 overall, 3-2 in ICCAC Conference play.  The Panthers is led by #3 Keeon Johnson.  He is averaging 13.6 ppg while shooting 42.5% from the arc.  #23 Amel Kuljuhovic is averaging 11.4 ppg in conference play. 

Iowa Lakes Women's Basketball will tip off against Ellsworth Community College at 1:00 PM.  Sophomore Lauryn Smith is leading the Lakers with 12.1 ppg.  Freshman Mia Wassink is averaging 11.5 PPG and 8.9 rebound per game (RPG).  They look to get back on track with a win against the Panthers.
