Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball Face Little Priest Tribal College

Estherville, Iowa – Friday, February 17, 2017

 Iowa Lakes Basketball will play Little Priest Tribal College (LPTC) Warriors on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM. 

 The Men's Basketball team defeated North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) this past Wednesday, 80-79.  This victory gives the Lakers the season sweep against NIACC.  Streeter McIlravy led the Lakers in points with 23.  He made 7 out of 13 shots from the field.  Sophomore point guard, Tywon Bressler Jr., scored 15 points.  Dennis Joiner contributed 12 points.

 The upcoming game on Saturday will be the second time LPTC faces Iowa Lakes.  The Lakers had 6 players who scored 10 or more points the first time.  Dennis led them with 27 points.  Tywon Bressler Jr., Streeter McIlravy, Jaylon Tapplar, Mitch Keller, and Joe Binyoti had 16, 15, 13, 11, and 11 points respectively.  The Lakers defeated LPTC Warriors 107-83.

 Currently, the Lakers are 17-7 overall and 5-3 in ICCAC conference play.  They are on a 4 game win streak.  The Lakers will look to protect home court against the Warriors.  They are 8-1 this year at home. 

 LPTC is led by AJ Walker, Brandon Stapleton, and Xavier Parkman.  They are averaging 15.7 ppg, 13.1 ppg, and 12.8 ppg respectively. 

 Iowa Lakes Women's Basketball will travel to Southeastern Community College. Sophomore Lauryn Smith is leading the Lakers with 12.2 ppg.  Freshman Mia Wassink is averaging 11.9 ppg and 9.2 rebound per game (RPG).  Fellow freshman Lemia Ntor-Ue is averaging 10 ppg and 6.3 rpg.  They will tip off at 1:00 PM.
