Five players from the Men's Basketball team were selected to various All Region XI teams.  Head coaches from the eight NJCAA division II schools vote on players to represent the All Region XI 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention teams.

Coach Larson believed the Lakers "were very close to having a special season but weren't able to close a couple of games. Based on our team's success we had numerous individuals recognized as all conference performers."

Kyle Beisch

Fr – Fort Dodge, IA

1st Team All-Region XI

Freshman guard, Kyle Beisch, was voted onto the All-Region XI 1st team.  Kyle led the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game (ppg), grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game (rpg), giving 2.1 assists per game (apg).  He shot 44.4% from the field, 44.2% from the 3 point arc, and 81.9% from the free throw line.

Coach Troy Larson had these comments to say about Kyle.  "One of the hardest working players on the team.  He is in the gym all the time.  Great shooter and competitor, I really enjoyed coaching Kyle this season.  Was very consistent for a Freshman and had numerous big games for us."

Mitch Keller

So – Bunbury, Australia

2nd Team All-Region XI

Sophomore center, Mitch Keller, and freshman guard, Dennis Joiner, were voted to the All-Region XI 2nd team.  Mitch led the team with 7.8 rpg.  Keller scored 10.4 ppg and had 2.8 apg.  He shot 59.9% from the field.

Coach Larson explains the impact Mitch has had for Iowa Lakes, "Mitch worked hard over the last two seasons at Iowa Lakes.  Was our rim protector and primary interior defender.  Great passer and leader on the team.  Iowa Lakes will miss him next year."

2nd Team All-Region XI

Dennis Joiner was 3rd on the team in scoring with 12.7 ppg.  He averaged 4.5 rpg and shot 46.6% from the field.  Coach Larson stated, "Dennis is one of the best scorers on the team.  Dennis could get his own shot when needed and was able to make big shots.  Really got better as the season went along."

Freshman forward, Jaylon Tapplar, and freshman guard, Streeter McIlravy, were voted onto the All-Region XI Honorable Mention team.  Jaylon scored 9.8 ppg and shot 52% from the field.  In conference play he increased his field goal percentage to 55.3% and shot 70.8% from the free throw line.
