The Lakers, who earned the third seed, will battle the sixth seeded Tritons from Iowa Central on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 PM in the first round of the ICCAC DII Region XI tournament. This will be the third time the Lakers have faced the Tritons this season.
In their first matchup, in Fort Dodge, Iowa Central came away with the win, 98-96. The Lakers were victorious at home defeating Iowa Central 84-64 the second time around.
In the series this season, Solomon Clayton is averaging 20 points per game and Kevin Jennings is averaging 14.5 points per game. For the Tritons, their sophomore Royshawn Webb, Dallas Bailey, and Kemryn Jenkins is leading them in scoring. Kemryn Jenkins is scoring 21.5 points per game. Dallas Bailey is scoring 20.5 points per game. Royshawn Webb is averaging 14 points per game.
When asked Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson his thoughts on the matchup tomorrow, he stated, "It all starts with our effort and energy on defense. We have to prevent the ball from being drove into the paint. Iowa Central leads the nation in three point field goal percentage because of the advantages created from their dribble drive offense"
