Estherville, IA - The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team moved to 9-2 on the season and 1-0 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play with a 83-80 win over Iowa Central.
The Lakers were led by Justin Brookens with 23 points. Brookens led the Lakers with 5 assists, joining him in double figures was Malcolm Clayton with 15 points, and Keshawn Pegues with 14 points. Pegues and Kevin Cook led the Lakers in rebounding with 8 boards.
Iowa Central was led by Andrew Gibb with 20 points.
Lakers head coach Troy Larson had this to say about the game, "Typical conference game, I don't think either team played great but it was a highly spirited competitive game, and we were fortunate to make a couple of plays down the stretch to win the game.
The Lakers will travel to Cedar Rapids to take on Kirkwood on Saturday, December 7th. Tip for that game will be at 3 pm.
