Pegues named ICCAC Athlete of the Week

Estherville, IA- For the second time this season the NJCAA 11th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team has had back to back Iowa Community College Athletic Conference players of the week and for the second time this season Keshawn Pegues is the recipient. Last week Alan Kikwaki was named ICCAC player of the week. Pegues was named player of the week for the week of November 1-10th. Justin Brookens was named the player of the week November 11-17.

Pegues was named player of the week for the week of January 13-19. Pegues had a huge game for Iowa Lakes in their only contest of the week, a 108-96 win at NJCAA #10 ranked NIACC. In the contest, Pegues would score 25 points going 9 of 14 from the floor and 7 of 11 from the free-throw line. He would grab also grab 20 rebounds. For the season he is averaging 14.6 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting 54% from the floor. In ICCAC play Pegues is averaging 16 points shooting 56% from the floor and grabbing 12.8 rebounds per contest. 

Coach Larson had this to say about Pegues, "Keshawn is one of those guys that works and plays really hard, he is always in the gym working on his game. He is deserving of this award and I am proud of him."

Iowa Lakes next contest will be January 22nd vs NJCAA 3rd ranked DMACC. The tip will be at 7:30 pm in Estherville in Laker Gymnasium.
