Lakers host Ellsworth in 1st round of ICCAC Tournament

Estherville, Iowa – The NJCAA 10th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team wrapped up regular season play on Saturday with a 95-59 win over Ellsworth. The win moved the Lakers to 25-5 on the season and 11-3 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play earning them the 3 seed in the ICCAC DII Region XI tournament.

The Lakers will host 6th seeded Ellsworth on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 PM in the first round of the ICCAC DII Region XI tournament.  This will be the third time the Lakers have faced the Panthers this season. Iowa Lakes has won the first two meetings. 87-70 on January 25th, and 95-59 on February 29th.

Iowa Lakes who is ranked first nationally in 3-point field goal percentage is paced by Justin Brookens. Brookens is averaging 19.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per contest. Brookens is 2nd in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage at 52.3%  Other Lakers who are scoring in double figures include Keshawn Pegues at 12.8 points per game, Malcolm Clayton at 12 points per contest, and Boston Grimes at 10.7 points per game. Pegues leads the Lakers in rebounding at 8.9 per contest.
