Clayton signs with Bethany College

Estherville, IA. — Iowa Lakes sophomore guard Malcolm Clayton has signed a national letter of intent to play at Bethany College. 

Bethany is an NAIA school out of Lindsborg, Kansas. They are coached by Dan O'Dowd. 

Clayton had this to say about his signing. "I chose Bethany because they seemed to be on the come up! I trust their coaches to bring a good result out of me, and good tournament run. The community seems nice and I am excited for two more years of chasing a championship."

Clayton, a native of Ft. Dodge, IA, was named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team. He helped lead the Lakers to an overall record of 26-6 and an ICCAC record of 13-3.

Iowa Lakes Head Men's Basketball Coach Troy Larson had this to say about Clayton. "This is a great opportunity for Malcolm at Bethany. He will have a chance to compete right away and provide an impact on their team. Malcolm worked hard in his time here and improved greatly from his freshman year. I am excited to see how much better he gets and looking forward to following his career."

Clayton, who lists at 6-foot-0 inches, averaged 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game as a sophomore.
