Men's Basketball Release's Roster

Estherville, IA- Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball Coach Troy Larson, who is in his 15th season at the helm of the Lakers has released the roster for the 2021-2022 season.

The Lakers who are coming off a 21-8 season that saw the lakers place 3rd in the NJCAA Division II Basketball tournament return 6 players. Those players include Xzavier Jones (NJCAA First Team All-American, ICCAC First Team All-Region, 13.5 points and 7 rebounds per game), Ryan Hall (ICCAC Honorable All- Region Team, 13.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game), Caleb Johnson (ICCAC Honorable All- Region Team, 12.2 points, 4 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game), Jonathan Oden (5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game), Joseph Owens (4.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game), and Oz Meiborg (2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game).

The Lakers have also added 3 transfers from NJCAA Institutions they include Andrew Bennett (New Mexico Military Institute, (1 point, and 1.3 rebounds per game), Anthony Holden (Penn Valley, 11 points, and 5.1 rebounds per game), and Dylan Night (New Mexico Military Institute, 1 point, and 1.5 rebounds per game).

The Lakers freshmen class includes, KeVaughn Booze ( Cameron YOE, Cameron, TX), Jeremiah Burke ( St Francis High School, Milwaukee, WI), Trey Carter-Coleman (Grace Prep, Milwaukee WI), Dominic Drent ( Sioux City East High School, Le Sueur, MN), Jaylen Harris ( Kell High School, Marietta, GA),  Matt Heckman (Granada Huntley East Chain High School, Fairmont, MN)  Marcus Owens ( North High School, Minneapolis, MN), Jovan Webb (West De Pere High School, Green Bay, WI) and Isaiah Youngquist ( DeKalb High School, DeKalb, IL).

"I am really excited for this year's team to take the court. We return a lot of guys that have been through the battles. Both are returners and are new guys have worked hard to improve this fall both on and off the court." Said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.

The Lakers will open their season in Wahpeton, ND on Monday November 1st vs. North Dakota College of Science. Tip will be at 7pm. The Lakers first home action will be Wednesday December 1st at 7:30 pm vs. Southwestern.
