Lakers to take on Southwestern in Home Opener

Estherville, Iowa –

The 13th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team will play their first home game of the season when it hosts Southwestern Wednesday evening as part of a double header in Laker Gymnasium. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 pm.   

The Lakers are coming off a 2020-21 campaign that saw the Lakers finish the year 21-8 with a  3rd  place national finish.

The Lakers are currently 6-2 on the season and are a 4 game winning streak.  Ryan Hall leads the Lakers in scoring at 13.9 points per contest. 3 other lakers are averaging double digits including Caleb Johnson at 11.6, Xzavier Jones at 10.9, and Johnathan Oden at 10. Johnson is leading the Lakers in assists with 7.6 per contest, and Oden leads the team in rebounding with 6.5 per contest.

Coach Larson stated that "We are excited to have our fans back and showcase what we have been working on this fall. It'll be good for our guys to play in front of a home crowd and see what Laker basketball is about."

The Iowa Lakes women will tip before the men at 5:30.
