Lakers to take on Fort Scott

Estherville, Iowa – Tuesday, January 4, 2022

The 16th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team will host Fort Scott on Wednesday, January 5th at 7:30 pm. Fort Scott currently sits at 10-5 and plays in the Kansas J-Hawk Conference. One of the toughest Junior College Conferences in the Country. All 5 of Fort Scott's losses have come to Division 1 programs. 

The Lakers who are currently 9-4 on the season are led by Ryan Hall scoring 13.3 points per game on the season. Multiple Lakers are averaging double figures on the season including Caleb Johnson at 11.5 points, Johnson is also getting 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game, and returning First Team All-American Xzavier Jones is scoring 10.6 points and grabbing 6.6 points per contest. 

"We are looking forward to getting back to playing games and then getting back into conference play, the league is one of the best in the country and every game will be competitive," said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.  The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference currently has 4 teams in the top 20. Iowa Western is currently 7th, Kirkwood is 14tjth,  Iowa Lakes is 16th, and defending National Champion DMACC is 17th.
