Lakers set to host NIACC

Estherville, Iowa-

The 14th ranked Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team is set to host NIACC on Wednesday, January 12th at 7:30 pm. 

NIACC currently sits at 11-4 overall and is 2-2 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play. They are currently receiving votes in the NJCAA Division II National Poll. NIACC is led by Cortavious Seales scoring 13.3 points per game. In their last game out they defeated Iowa Central 70-44. 

The Lakers are currently 11-4 overall and 3-1 in ICCAC play. Iowa Lakes is led by All Region performer Ryan Hall. Hall is averaging 13.9 points per game on the season. Multiple Lakers are averaging double figures including Caleb Johnson at 11.4 points, Johnson is also getting 5.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, and returning First Team All-American Xzavier Jones is scoring 10.1 points and grabbing 6.6 rebounds per contest. In the Lakers last game out they defeated Ellsworth 82-61. 

"We are looking forward to getting back to playing in front of our fans, and our student body. The game will be very competitive and should be exciting to watch," said Lakers Head Coach Troy Larson.  

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference currently has 3  teams in the top 20. Iowa Western is currently 7th,  Iowa Lakes is 14th, and Kirkwood is 17th.
