Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball player Johnathan Oden signed his letter of intent to continue his collegiate career at Bethany College, a NAIA level institution located in Lindsborg, KS.  

Oden helped the Lakers to a 42-18 record in his two years as a Laker. Oden earned Honorable Mention All-Region his sophomore year. As a sophomore Oden averaged 9.6 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. As a freshman Oden averaged 5.9 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Oden graduated in May 2020 from Legal Prep High School in Chicago, IL. Oden averaged 19.3 points per game and averaged 14.3 rebounds.

 "My experience at Iowa Lakes was necessary. I was able to become a better student, and I also was able to grow my game on the court. I'm thankful for my teammates and coaches. Lastly, hard work, pays off " commented Oden.

"I chose Bethany because I believe the coaches and the school would be best for me. Commented Oden.

"Proud of John and all the growth he had on and off the court in his two years at Iowa Lakes. He has so much room to continue to grow, and I believe the Bethany staff will help him do that. I enjoyed coaching him and I'm excited to follow his journey at Bethany." commented Head Men's Basketball Coach Troy Larson.
