The Iowa Lakes Men's basketball team knocked off Illinois Central 101-70 to move to 1-0 on the season. The win was Head Men's Basketball Coach Jason McKinney's first win.

The Lakers were led by Benard Omooria with 21 points, Blake Kooiman added 16 points, Jaedan Jefferson and Jhordan Ryan both had 15 points, Ashton Herman had 14, and Sam West had 11. 

Illinois Central was led by Emarion Byrd with 20 points.

Really proud of our guys tonight. We played well on the defensive end of the floor holding Illinois Central to 35% from the floor and out rebounding them by 14 on the glass.  Jhordan Ryan gave us a huge lift off the bench tonight too." Said Laker Head Men's Basketball Coach Jason McKinney. 

The Lakers return to action tomorrow afternoon against NJCAA defending Nation Champion Milwaukee Area. Tip for that game will be at 3pm.
