Lakers fall to defending national champ

Estherville, IA- The Iowa Lakes Men's basketball team fell to 1-1 on the season with a 90-86 loss to Milwaukee Area Technical College.

The Lakers were led by Benard Omooria with 27 points, Sam West added 23, and Blake Kooiman 13 points.

Milwaukee was led by Ke'Varius Taylor with 21 points.

Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball Coach had this to say about the game. Really proud of our guys and how we started the game.  We had great energy and played extremely on both ends of the floor. The second half was a different story we game them easy buckets around the rim and then that opened things up for them on the perimeter. We can't allow a team to shoot 70% in the second half and deserve to win a game. It's not the end of the world but we must learn from it."

The Lakers will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Dordt's JV at 7:30 PM.
