Estherville, IA- The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team moved to 5-2 on the season with a pair of victories in Marshalltown this weekend.

The first was a 62-59 win over Bryant and Stratton(WI). 

The Lakers were led by Kai Evans with 21 points, Benard Omooria added 11, and Ashton Hermann added 10.

Bryant and Stratton was led by Karter Thomas with 15 points.

"Their pressure and their zone defense gave us some trouble early but we were able to calm down in the second half and made enough plays down the stretch to pull out the victory." Said Laker Head Coach Jason McKinney.

In their second game of the weekend the Lakers would knock off undefeated Rock Valley 80-65.

The Lakers were led by Ashton Hermann with 19 points. Kai Evans chipped in with 17, Sam West added 15, and Benard Omooria added 11.

Rock Valley was led by Blessing Nwotite with 14 points.

"Our energy was really good to start the game and Ashton got us going offensively. We were able to handle their run late in the game and stretched back to 15 their late. Really proud of our guy's effort tonight. Said Laker Head Men's Basketball Coach Jason McKinney."

The Lakers will return to action Monday night when they take on Northwestern's JV in Laker Gymnasium. Tip will be at 7:30 PM.
