Lakers take two at Thanksgiving Classic

Estherville, IA- The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team took two games this weekend in the Iowa/Nebraska Thanksgiving Classic to move to 8-2 on the season.

 

In their first contest of the weekend, they would take on the host team Southeast. The Lakers would win that game 92-87.

 

The Lakers were led by Benard Omooria with 25 points. Ashton Hermann added 18 points, Jaedan Jefferson had 14, Sam West had 13, and Kai Evans had 11.

 

Southeast was led by Justin Bolis with 20 points.

 

In their second game of the weekend the Lakers would knock off Central Nebraska 74-63.

 

Sam West led the Lakers in this game with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Jaedan Jefferson added 15 points, Benard Omooria had 13, and Kai Evan's had 11.

 

Central's stats are currently not available.

 

The Lakers will travel to Norfolk, Nebraska on Saturday where they will open Iowa Community College Athletic Conference play against Northeast. Tip for that game will be 3pm.
