Estherville, IA — The Iowa Lakes Men's Basketball team debuted at No. 13 in the 2024-25 Preseason National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men's Basketball Rankings.  The Lakers are one of four Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) teams ranked joining #3 DMACC, #6 Kirkwood, and # 7 Ellsworth

The Lakers are coming off a season in which they qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament. The Lakers finished 27 – 9 overall and 14 – 4 in the highly competitive ICCAC. The Lakers return just 2 players from last year's team including Ashton Hermann (8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game), and Jhordan Ryan (5.8 points 5.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game).   

Iowa Lakes will open the regular season by playing NJCAA Division 1 Marshalltown on November 2nd at 4:00pm.

Iowa Lakes is coached by Jason McKinney who is entering his 2nd season as head coach of the Lakers. McKinney spent the previous 14 seasons as an assistant at Iowa Lakes.
