Lakers Sweep Podium at NIACC Spring Invite

Low Medalist Jordan Henry Leads Lakers to Victory

It was a beautiful day in Mason City, Iowa and the Iowa Lakes men's golf team took advantage and posted a sub 300 round of 297 to win the NIACC Spring Invite by 5 shots over DMACC. The Lakers were led by Jordan Henry who posted a career low two under 70 to take low medalist honors.

The successful day did not end there as Matt Bennett came in with a one over 73 to take second and Jacob Baker came in with a two over 74 to take third individually. Rounding out the remaining team scores were Connor Anderson with an 80 and Jack Brashear with an 81. Collin Kemper posted an 84 individually.

"The guys came out today and did what they had to do to secure a win. We have been fighting all spring and it is nice moving forward to have a clear win as a team moving towards regions in a couple weeks and a little bit of momentum. I am extremely happy for Jordan and very proud of the way that his game is coming along and it was nice to see it all come together so he knows just how well he can score." said Coach Weber who got his first career coaching win at Iowa Lakes. "It never really hit me that this was my first career win until a couple of the guys congratulated me. It really was a special day that I won't soon forget. To have my first win, Henry post his career low, and the rest of the guys sweep the podium, it really doesn't get much better."

The Lakers are back in action Tuesday, April 25th in Fort Dodge at the Fort Dodge Country Club for the Iowa Central Spring Invitational with a shotgun start at 10:00 AM.
