Spencer, IOWA – Sophomore Defender Cameron Weston was named the ICCAC Athlete of the Week. The man from Leicester, England has been an absolute force this year for the #9 Lakers.
Iowa Lakes won their 7th and 8th straight games of the year last week as they won their first two conference matches of the season in an 11-1 win over Northeast (Neb.) and 4-3 over #13 Marshalltown to avenge the loss in the Region XI Championship game last season.
Cameron Weston was outstanding offensively from his defensive position. Against Northeast he scored a goal and added three assists. And against MCC, down 3-1, he netted back to back goals in the 66-minute and the 77-minute to tie the game before ultimately taking the lead.
Weston has eight goals on the season, second most behind teammate Jovoney Brown.
