LAKERS BLANK IOWA CENTRAL 2-0 ON SOPHOMORE DAY, CLINCH PLAYOFF BIRTH.

The Lakers Hosted and Defeated Iowa Central Tritons 2-0 on Sophomore Day this past Saturday. This also was the final regular season game for the Lakers.

It was only right for all goals and assists came from sophomores on Sophomore Day.  Cameron Weston scored a free kick 25 yards out from the Triton goal in the first six minutes. The Lakers would pepper the Central goal the remainder of the half but could not get a second and would head into halftime up 1-0.

The Lakers continued where they left off creating a lot of chances but could not find the back of the net until the 70th minute when Sophomore Striker Jovoney Brown finished a 1 on 1 with the Triton keeper, curtsey of Sophomore Luan Cesar.The Lakers would finish the game 2-0. Sophomore Josh Wilson with the Shutout.

With his 2 goals in the previous game against Scott and his lone goal on Saturday. The Jamaican Striker Jovoney Browns carves his name into Iowa Lakes Record books with the most goals scored in one season (17). Brown has 10 assists and 44 points on the year.

With this win the Laker's will finish the season in 3rd place in the ICCAC and will clinch a playoff birth with a first round home game. Lakers overall record (12-3-1) and (6-2-1) in Conference play.
