Men Swimmers Compete at Luther Invite

This past friday and saturday the men swimmers competed at the Luther Invite. Friday they started off the meet with a second place in the 200 medley relay with the team of Lucas Stith, Parker Tompkins, Hylton Collinson, and Gabriel Carmona. Carmona started off the Laker Men with a sixth place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Tompkins swam next in the 100 butterfly with a fifth place finish. Stith and Collinson teamed up in the 100 baackstroke for a 1st and 3rd place finish, repectivley. Carmona and Tompkins went 4th and fifth in the 100 yard backstroke to finish off the individual performances for the men. They ended the day with a  3rd place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. 

 The divers got things started on Saturday with AJ Cervantes taking 2nd place and teammate Eric Medina taking 4th in the 1 meter. In the 3 meter Medina finished 3rd and Cervantes placed 4th. The swimmers started things up with the 400 medley relay taking 4th with the team of Stith, Tompkins, Carmona & Collinson. Tompkins dropping nearly a second just missed out on points with his 17th place finish. Collinson took second in the 200 breaststroke. Stith had the next two individual events for the men taking first in both the 200 fly and the 400 IM. Collinson and Carmona took on the 100 freestyle taking third and 16th respectivley. The men rounded out the meet with a fourth place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. 

 

The men will take a break before competing at the Rochester Invite which is the teams midseason meet. 

They will be at home against Iowa Central Jan. 6th!
