The Laker Men came up short against St Marys on Saturday, losing 93-75.  "The athletes did what they needed to win this meet, but we just didn't have enough to pull it out.  St. Marys swam well and coach Lowe put together the right lineup to beat us.  It was fun to see close meets between both the men's and women's teams and I think both teams came away satisfied that we each won one. " Commented Coach Peters after the meet.  "We had some amazing swims, just not enough to win."

Jacob Bohnert led the Iowa Lakes Men with wins in the 1000 and 500 free and the 50 butterfly.  He also led off the second place medley relay.  Bohnert had a near lifetime best in the 500 free.  Juan Briseno and Simon Broadwater had strong performances as they each dropped two seconds anchoring the Medley and Freestyle relays.  "Simon and Juan are battling to see who will anchor our relays and Simon swam a lifetime best 27.52 on the first relay and Juan finished the meet with a lifetime best 27.82.  It is exciting to see swimmers dropping two seconds in a 50 yard race.  They are both making huge strides and pushing each other to improve."

Gabriel Carmona won the 100 IM and Garrett Nielson won the 50 freestyle.

Iowa Lakes will enter the Morningside Invite on Nov. 10.
