This weekend your Lakers Swim team took on the Coyote Invite in Sioux Falls. This 2 day event hosted 7 teams including South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota, University of Sioux Falls, University of Northern Iowa, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Iowa Central Community College and your Iowa Lakes Lakers! 

This was a big weekend for sophomores Madison Otto and Brady Noel, as they competed against the clock to qualify for nationals. Otto qualified in the womens 500 free with a time of 7:09.00 and Noel qaulifeid in both the 500, 5:54.31, and the 1650 (a mile) with a 20:40.75. With these two qaulifying, the entire Laker Swim team is headed to Fort Pierce, Florida to take on Nationals! 

Some other amazing things that happened in Sioux Falls, 200 Medley relay dropped time, ending up with a 1:50.43. This realy included Sophomore Caleb Rubitschung and Freshmen Pedro Brandao, Joao Rodrigues, and Caleb Hodge. Pedro Brandao had tough competition in the100 and 200 Breaststroke but pulled off a third place! Freshman Caleb hodge had his first 100 freestyle race ever and came back with a solid time of 53.87!  

It was a tough but strong effort from this team this past weekend and we are looking forward to the National Meet!
