The men and women's cross country team competed in their first meet of the season when they traveled to Iowa Western Community College and ran in the 5k time trial. The men ran first and were led by sophomore Kameron Rohwedder who finished 57th place with a time of 19:24.6. Sophomore Kevin Davis also ran a tough race and finished with a time of 32:28.

Sophomore Jadin Bezdicek was the only female runner for the women's side this meet. She ran a great race and finished 33rd place with a time of 25:23.7.

"I was really happy with our performance today. That course is probably the toughest course we will run all year and they got after it. I thought Kameron got out strong and competed and I applaud Kevin for the toughness that he displayed. Jadin ran a great overall race. She has a good internal time clock and sets a good pace for herself. Chelsea Cave wasn't able to run this meet unfortunately, but I look forward to seeing her in action as well. Obviously we have room for improvement with it being this early on in this season and we are going to continue to get better every day," commented Coach Bruce.

The cross country teams return to action on Friday September 1st when they travel to Simpson College.
