They scored four runs in the first on two hits and two walks. They continued scoring in the second with another six runs on the board on four hits, two walks, and one error. Game Two: DMACC 4, ILCC 3

The Lakers fought hard in game two, losing in the bottom of the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly. Yasmine Nix pitched a gem for the Lakers. She allowed four earned runs on eight hits. Nix allowed her defense to work for her, as they recorded 20 putouts and only committed one error.

Julia Sullwold got things going with a leadoff walk. She advanced to second on a one out single from Leilani San Pedro before coming around to score on a Kacie Salazar single. Both Salazar and San Pedro advanced on the throw to home. Nix helped herself out early, by singling to left to score San Pedro and put the Lakers up 2-0.

The score remained this way until the Lakers scored one in the top of the third. San Pedro doubled to left center and was sacrificed to third by Kaitlin Walsh. Salazar drove in her second run of the game with a double to put the Lakers up 3-0.

The Bears scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth. They led off with a single, before being forced out on a fielder's choice to Desiree Lopez. The next DMACC hitter doubled to left center to score the runner from first. This was followed by a single before Salazar was hit a ground ball where she threw the runner out at first and held the runner at third. The final out of the inning came on a bunt back to Nix to end the Bear's threat.

DMACC tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth on a two out, two run homerun from the Bear's cleanup hitter.

The score remained 3-3 until the bottom of the seventh. The Bears leadoff with a single and two stolen bases later, DMACC had a runner at third base with nobody out. Nix got the next batter to ground out to Salazar before a fielder's choice and stolen base put runners at second and third with one out. The Bears next batter hit a sacrifice fly to left center that San Pedro dove and caught, but the runner at third tagged up to complete the 4-3 DMACC win.

Kacie Salazar was 2-3 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in. Leilani San Pedro was 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Yasmine Nix was also 2-3 with one run batted in.
