(Emmetsburg, Iowa) The Iowa Lakes Sports Shooting  Team shot 453x500 to 364x400 for South West. The rain finally stopped but it was cloudy and cold when the shooting started at the Palo Alto Gun on Saturday, October 14,2023. The top five shooters for the Lakers were: Taylor Shiflett 93, Kendall Umscheid 93, Cameron Fick 92, Wyatt Schwenker 88, and Boden Paullin 87.

In the individual men's division, Taylor Shiflett took the bronze medal with 93x100. In the individual women's division, Kendall Umscheid won the gold medal with 93x100, Megan Buscher took the silver medal with 78x100 and Haley Dodge took the bronze medal with 73.

The Lakers finished the Western Division of the ICCAC with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

The final completion of the fall season for the Lakers is the 2023 Junior College SCTP State Championship at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, IA, on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The Lakers are scheduled to shoot 100 trap targets at 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
