The Lakers win their conference opener over Southwestern 74-65. The Lakers had five in double figures. The Lakers were led by Mia Wassink with 25 points. Calynn Jackson added 14 points, , Lemia Ntor-Ue and Marissa Ruiz both added 11 points and Marisela Perez added 10 points.
"The team fought hard from the very beginning. I thought we came ready to play and were locked in and ready to go. It was good to see us fight through adversity. We continue to improve. I like our energy and focus right now," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.
The Lakers are 6-9 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The Lakers are back in action on Wednesday, January 17th at 5:30pm vs DMACC in Boone, IA. The Lakers return to home on Saturday, January 20th when they host Kirkwood at 1:00pm.
