Iowa Lakes Women Kick off Conference Play

The Iowa Lakes Women's Basketball team is looking to kick off conference play on the right foot this year.  They are coming off a good team win against Grandview University's Junior Varsity team. Breanna Wendland led the way with 16 points, shooting 64% from the field.  Tyler Pacheco followed as the second highest scorer for the Lakers with 10 points, while Shareece Smith and Destiny Broussard brought in a combined 21 rebounds.

The Laker women take on the Tritons of Iowa Central Community College at home, December 4th at 5:30pm.  The Tritons are 6-4 on the season coming off a win against Graceland University's Junior Varsity team. When speaking with Head Coach Ashley Martin, she had this to say about the upcoming contest, "It will be a good opportunity to take on Iowa Central at home. We have split with them the last couple years and we expect this game to be very competitive."  The Laker women have won three of their last six contests against the Tritons in the past two years, leaving them with a 50/50 split.
