Gracelyn Deputy – Iowa Lakes – Sophomore – Center
Gracelyn Deputy of Iowa Lakes put up 55 points in two games this past week to earn Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season. In the Lakers first game of the week Deputy had 30 points, six rebounds, two steals and three blocks in double overtime to beat Iowa Central 70-61. Next Deputy went to Forest City, Iowa and played Waldorf JV and put up 25 points with eight rebounds. The Lakers won the game 74-57 to improve their season record to 10-12 overall. Deputy this season averages 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and leads the Lakers in both categories along with averaging just under one block per game. On a three-game win streak the Lakers face Iowa Western -- who beat them earlier this year 70-65. The Lakers next home game is Wednesday, February 5th vs Marshalltown CC at 5:30pm.
