The Lakers win at home and get the season sweep over Southwestern CC the Marshalltown Tigers 77-65.  The Lakers had a very balanced scoring attack with 5 in double figures. The Lakers were led by Gracelyn Deputy with 17 points. Morgan Bednarek added a double double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Tayona Keys added13 points, Tatyana Allen-Winston and Ryale Mosley each added 10 points a piece.

Southwestern was led by Brooklyn Hadl with 25 points.

"Great win on sophomore day. So happy for our team and proud of their effort. They gutted out a good win today. Executed really well on the offensive end in the 2^nd half. Proud of how hard they played and to see them get timely defensive stops when we needed them. Thankful to celebrate our three sophomores today; Grace, Tay, and Paige. So thankful for what they have given to our program. They have shown so much growth in their two years at Iowa Lakes. thankful they chose to be Lakers," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.

The Lakers are 12-14 on the season and 6-8 in conference play.   The Lakers return to action on Wednesday, February 12^th when they travel to Norfolk, NE to take on Northeast CC at 5:30pm. The Lakers next home game is Wednesday, February 19^th vs DMACC at 5:30pm.
