The Iowa Lakes Women's Basketball team finished 7th in conference and will travel to Iowa Falls on Saturday, March 1st at 1 pm vs 2nd seeded Ellsworth, in the first round of the ICCAC DII Region XI-B tournament. This. The Lakers finished the regular season 12-18 overall and 6-12 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. This will be the third time the Lakers have faced the Panthers this season, both regular season contests going to the Panthers.
"Earning a spot to play in post season is a huge thing. It's a new season 0-0. This group has worked hard and continually improved every day. This has helped us to play at a high level second semester. We are very excited to have an opportunity to play in post season and look forward to competing," commented Head Coach Ashley Martin.
The Lakers are led in scoring by Gracelyn Deputy, who is averaging 13.0 points per game, and 6.1 rebounds a game. The Lakers have had a very balanced scoring attack with Morgan Bednarek averaging 8.0 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game and Paige Martin averaging 7.5 points per game.
