Iowa Lakes Women Begin Spring Season

It has been one of those springs for the Iowa Lakes women's golfers. With the weather and rescheduled events, the Lakers were finally able to step foot on a golf course and begin their 2018 spring campaign.

"It was great to see the ladies get out and stretch their legs and test the waters. These young women have been putting a ton of work and have big goals of making it down to Arizona in May, so it was good to see them get a chance to really get going." said Coach Weber. "Just like the guys, they haven't had a chance to get out to Brooks National and really get a good rhythm, so today was huge step forward in the right direction. Annika, Allison, and Molly played well when you consider this is the first time in months that they were able to see a ball travel farther than 25 feet into a net. They have great attitudes to begin this season and I am eager to see where they can go."

With a team injury to fellow teammate Logan Weber, the Lakers will be down to three players and will not be able to post any team scores until next season. Annika DuMoulin led the way for the Lady Lakers with a 91 which was good for 4th place individually. Allison Freeman came in with a 99 and Molly Diekmann carded a 107.

The Lakers will be back in action at the Dordt Spring Invite on Thursday, April 12th at the Ridge in Sioux Center quickly followed by the Region XI Spring Preview at Lake Panorama National on Friday, April 13th.
