DuMoulin Punches Ticket to National Championship

After back to back weekends at Otter Creek Golf Club in Ankeny, Iowa and four well played rounds, Iowa Lakes freshman Annika DuMoulin has earned her spot to compete at the 2018 NJCAA Women's National Golf Championship in Mesa, Arizona at Longbow Golf Club. In the process of qualifying for the National Tournament, Annika also earned a place on the All-Tournament team and was awarded 1st Team All-Region with her 5th place finish at the Region XI Women's Championship by shooting a four day total of 337, three shots ahead of the sixth place finisher. Also competing for Iowa Lakes was freshman Molly Diekmann who posted a four day total of 405 and finished in 21st place.

"Both girls came out and competed and I could not be prouder of the both of them. Annika played very well for the tournament, especially in round three in extremely tough conditions," said Coach Weber when asked about the tournament. "There were constant 30 MPH winds on Friday, and I told them both to just keep their heads down and try not to get too discouraged. Annika was able to post a solid 86 and moved up the leader board from 7th to 5th as most of the field fell a little behind their pace. That Friday round ended up being the biggest reason she finished top five and made the All-Tournament Team. Molly did a great job posting her season and career low of a 97 on Friday, which is saying quite a lot considering the conditions, and I could not be happier for her. Both of these girls worked extremely hard this season and set goals and achieved most of them. I know Annika will represent Iowa Lakes and Region XI extremely well in Mesa."

The 2018 NJCAA Women's National Golf Championship is set to take place on May 14-17th in Mesa, Arizona at Longbow Golf Club.
