IOWA LAKES SEND 9 WRESTLERS TO NJCAA NATIONALS

Iowa Lakes sends 9 wrestlers to Nationals on March 1st and 2nd at the Mid-American Center in council Bluffs.  The Lakers finished in 5th place as a team which was disappointing for Head Coach Cody Alesch.  "We really wrestled poorly today.  This is not the time of year that a coach ever wants to say that but it is the truth.  We did not battle well today as a team and that energy good or bad will carry over through out the team and I felt that was very evident today.  We did have some good things happen and a lot of guys battled hard and will be able to learn from what didn't go right for them today.  I was very happy with Anthony Fisher taking 2nd place and losing to the top wrestler in his weight class.  He had lost to that kid two weeks ago by a major decision and today it came down to the last 30 seconds and we had opportunities to win that match.  Anthony has worked hard, been focused and really narrowed that margin from the last time.  I know this group has better days ahead and that is what we will focus on between now and nationals.  We will find the positives, learn from the day and go to work.  These guys are good at learning and working hard," Coach Alesch.
