The Lakers were topped by Iowa Central 17-32 The Lakers were led by nationally ranked Robert Hall III at 141 lbs. Freshman Matthew Jordan at 125 lbs and Deville Dentis at 149 lbs were also key contributors for the Lakers.
"The guys on the team who are aggressive and creating offensive opportunities for themselves are the ones who are winning a lot of matches for us and that was evident tonight. When you wrestle a team as tough as Iowa Central there is going to be some adversity you need to fight through those who are aggressive and fighting for every position are winning. " commented Coach Alesch.
The Lakers are 0-2 on conference play with losses to Iowa Western and Iowa Central. The Lakers return to action this Saturday when they travel to Des Moines to wrestle at the Gradview Open. The Lakers next home game is Wednesday, January 14th when they host NIACC at 6:00pm at Spirit Lake High School.
