Lakers Open Conference with a Win over Scott

The Lakers opened conference play this past weekend, with a 10-0 win over Scott. The Lakers struck first with an early goal by sophomore Alicia Haughin. Adding another goal to the sheet was freshman Ronniellia Bubb. Sophomore Raina Nurr-Mecca added two back-to-back goals for the Lakers making it 4-0. With 8 minutes to go in the 1st half, freshman Amelie Prie added her first goal of the game, and the only unassisted goal of the game. The second half was no different, starting early with a goal by Kimble. Freshman Ana Zamorano started the second half with two back-to-back assists, first assisting Kimble and then assisting freshman Balaghni Ines with her only goal of the game. Bubb added her second goal of the day, making it 8-0, Kimble added her second of the game, with an assist by Balaghni Ines. Ending the game with a goal in the final 10 seconds was Bubb, who ended the day with 3 goals. Freshman Mahee Montenegro had 2 assists in the Lakers win, Balaghni Ines had 2 assists, and Ana Zamorano had 2 assists. Also adding an assist, a piece was freshman Chanell Makusu, and sophomore Steffi Schmeisser. The Lakers move to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Lakers are back in action on Wednesday September 25, 2024, against Hawkeye CC.
