Women Swimmers compete at Luther Invite

This past friday and saturday the women swimmers competed at the Luther Invite. Friday they started off the meet with a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay with the team of Shayna Asuncion, Monique Dias, Gabriela Reis, and Brenda Neves. Asuncion and Neves lead off the individual events with the 500 freestyle placing 6th and 4th, respectivley. Dias and Reis were up next in the 100 butterfly which they were able to go 2, 4, respectivley in the event. Reis swimming the third event of the night managed to get a third place in the 200 yard freestyle. Neves, Ascuncion, and Dias teamed up in the 100 yard breastroke for the top three spots. Friday night ended with the women taking another second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

After a nights rest the women returned to action with the 400 yard medley relay taking fourth place.  Ascuncion started off the individual events for the Lakers taking 9th place in the event. Neves, Dias, and Reis teamed up in the 100 yard freestyle taking 4th, 8th, and 9th, respectivley. The Lakers finished the meet with a thrid place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay.  

 

The women will take a break before competing at the Rochester Invite which is the teams midseason meet. 

They will be at home against Iowa Central Jan. 6th!
