Maria (Mavi) Valentin struggled with injuries throughout her freshman season but still had strong showings throughout the year.  Valentin finished top 16 at the NJCAA National Meet in the 500 freestyle (14th), 1000 Freestyle (12th), and 1650 freestyle (10th).  Valentin will be moving to shorter distance races this season to help minimize the injury effects she experienced a year ago. Valentin will be swimming the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles and the 100 and 200 backstrokes this season.
