Lakers Earn Two Golds, One Silver, and Break 7 Records at 2023 NJCAA National Swim and Dive Championships

Buffalo NY – The Iowa Lakes swim team made their way over to Erie Community College and the Burt Flickinger Aquatic Center, the host of the 2023 NJCAA National Swim and Dive Championships. The National Championship meet took place over a four-day period of March 1st to March 4th, seeing the preliminary heats in the morning starting at 9:30 am, and the finals at 5:30 pm each day.

The Iowa Lakes swim team qualified 14 athletes for the event, the largest qualifying team since 2015, and the third-largest qualifying team in program history. NJCAA Nationals this year saw 13 teams competing through the week, with our Laker Men finishing in 5th overall (scoring 347 points), and our Laker Women finishing 8th overall (scoring 236 points), both team significantly outscoring their 2022 performance, and breaking 7 school records along the way.
