Double Header Meet for the Lakers

This weekend, the Laker's Swim and Dive team took on the Cobber's, Mustangs and the Cougars in a double header meet. Friday night, the Laker's headed north to University of Minnesota-Morris. Some highlights of the meet being freshman Pedro Brandao taking on the 1000 free for the first time and pulling off a national qualifying time of 10:36.61 and a personal best in the 50 free from sophomore Rylee Valentine.

Friday night the Laker's traveled to Marshall, Minnesota to compete against SMSU and University of Minnesota-Morris again. Same team but different events which meant new personal bests in the 100 Fly from freshman Luis Ramirez-Armas with a 1:04.04 and in the 50 free from freshman Caleb Hodge with a 25.07. Both are national qualifying times!

Both meets proved the Lakers are in it to win it! Both Men's and Women's teams gave their all in the pool. With UMM being a NCAA D3 school and SMSU being a NAIA D2 school, the Lakers put up a good fight.

The Lakers next week will be November 11, 2023 in Fort Dodge, Iowa taking on the Iowa Central Tritons and Loras College.
