LAKER VOLLEYBALL CLINCHES REGION Xl TOURNAMENT BIRTH

The Lakers went on a mission to Ellsworth and came away with a 3-0 victory, 25-19, 25-19 & 26-24, sealing a spot in the Region Xl Regional Tournament this weekend.

The Lakers finish the regular season with a record of 10 & 29 and 2&7 in the ICCAC. They will be the #8 seed & will play the host, #1 Iowa Central in Fort Dodge on Saturday. Time TBD

When asked to comment Coach Turnbull had nothing but praise for his squad, "We played like big girls tonight. Our attack percentage was a season high 255, we served at a 92% clip and most importantly we passed at 93%. We also came away with 10 blocks. We did all this and maintained an aggressive level of play. I am real proud of these young ladies. They have played their way through a difficult schedule and came out the other end by securing a play-off position. There is nothing easy about playing in the ICCAC and qualifying for the post-season. They did it and I am proud to be along for the ride."

The Lakers begin regional tournament play this Saturday, November 2 when they travel to Fort Dodge, IA to take on the #1 seed Iowa Central.
