Lakers battle against Northwestern College JV

The Lakers got to battle Northwestern College's JV roster in both a scrimmage and game. The scrimmage was a great oppurtunity to run some different lineups and get players from both programs more touches early on in the season. The atmosphere in Laker Gymnasium was great! "Our fans came out in full and brought great energy that translated to the athletes on the court," said Coach Erdman. The First two sets of the match were very tight. There was moments where each program had small leads. Lots of great plays made on both ends. The scores of set one and set two were 25-22 and 25-17 in favor of the Red Raiders. The third set was a lot more dominant, ending at 25-9. The Red Raiders really took control of that third set and ramped up the efficiency in their offense. "I was very impressed with our scrappiness and resiliency. They had a very long and athletic team and we didn't back down from the challenge. It was really positive to see us make some strides defensively, and mentally," said Coach Erdman.

The Lakers hit .000 with 17 kills a number they look to improve throughout the season.

Lakers Leaders: Kills: Hailey Shequen 5 hitting .250, Morgan Wigg and Adri Krieger added 3 each; Aces: Jordan Grimes and Makenzie Uribe 2 a piece; Assists: Jordan Grimes 6 and Alyson Hagberg 5; Digs: Makenzie Uribe 12, Kylah Cortez 9, Kenzie Lee 8 and Jordan Grimes 7
