#15 in the Nation Hawkeye defeats Lakers in 3

The Lakers travelled to Waterloo to take on the Hawkeye Redtails. Hawkeye came out with a very talented lineup and did a great job putting the pressure on the Lakers. The Lakers struggled with being efficient in both Serve, Pass and Attack and that cost them to many points to stay in the match. In the second set they cleaned up play a little and kept the score tighter but overall just weren't clean enough. "We are learning to make adjustments faster, our schedule is tough all year long and challenges you to learn quick. We look to bounce back and compete at the YellowJacket open this weekend," said Coach Erdman.

Lakers Leaders: Kills: Lynasia Moore and Morgan Wigg with 4 a piece ; Digs: Jordan Grimes and Hailey Shequen 7 a piece with Kylah Cortez and Makenzie Uribe adding 6 of their own.

The Lakers are currently sitting at 0-11 and 0-2 in conference. The Lakers head to Rochester, Minnesota to compete in the YellowJacket Invite this weekend September 8th and 9th. On the 8th they will take on Harper College at 5:00 pm, and RCTC at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, they will get a rematch against Southwestern Community College at 12:00 pm, and get their first shot at conference opponent NIACC at 2:00 pm.
