Colorado Native Kajsa Bates signs with Iowa Lakes Volleyball

The Iowa Lakes CC Volleyball team is excited to announce that Kajsa Bates from Lutheran High School, and Castle Rock, Colorado has signed a Letter of Intent to attend Iowa Lakes CC and play volleyball in the fall of 2024.

Laker coach Nick Erdman is looking forward to have Kajsa joining the program. "Kajsa brings another strong three faceted person into our program. She is an excellent student, really driven towards her passions, and a has a great calming personality. She brings a lot of length to our front row, and does a great job taking court away from opposing teams with a strong block. Kajsa brings depth in the middle blocker position, that will be an excellent addition to our program."

Kajsa has been a part of the Lutheran High School varsity team for the past two seasons, as well as playing for panther volleyball for 3 seasons and relentless volleyball club for 1 season for club. Kajsa was a first team Academic All-State, and a varsity letter winner. Outside of volleyball Kajsa has spent two years in the Art Academy at Lutheran High School, a focused art program for students who want to further pursue their art career. She also served 20 hours of community service a year through church or the volleyball program.

Panther club coach's Joe Halboth and Chelsea Sosnowski had this to say to about Kajsa, "Coach Joe and I had the privilege to coach Kajsa through nearly all of her high school club seasons. Through this we saw tremendous growth as a leader, player, and as a teammate. Kajsa is a wonderful volleyball player who works hard, is coachable, and aims to improve her game in every facet of the sport. Joe and I are very proud of all she has accomplished thus far and wish her the best of luck in this new journey. She is a remarkable young lady and we know she will find success at Iowa Lakes."

Kajsa, who intends to earn an Associates in Arts at Iowa Lakes said, "I chose to attend Iowa Lakes and play volleyball because I really like the atmosphere and people that I have met, even though I've only been on a virtual tour I feel I got to know the program and some of the people very well. I'm very excited to play there next year and be a part of the volleyball program."
