Lakers grab first ICCAC win of the season against Tigers of Marshalltown

The Lakers headed out to Marshalltown to take on the Tigers in an ICCAC conference match. Every set was back and forth in the beginning but as sets 1,2,4 came towards the end the Lakers found ways to go out and win the set. The ended up beating the Tigers, 3-1 (25-23,25-17,21-25,25-19). They again showed a lot of balance in their offense with 5 hitters above seven kills, showing Sophomore setter Jordan Grimes commitment to moving the ball around. The defense had a lot of big contributions from Lorin Turkdogan, MaKenzie Urive and Jordan Grimes. "We came into this match knowing it was a very critical win for our goal of getting into the conference tournament and climbing the tough ladder that is the ICCAC standings. Really happy with the team's grit to find a way to win late in multiple sets even after being down in a few of them. We still have a lot of things to clean up to be where we want to be in terms of our potential but we are happy to come back home with a win," said Coach Erdman.
