Hawks sweep Lakers at home

The Lakers host Northeast Community College in Laker Gymnasium on Tuesday, September 24th.  Very similiar to last week against Kirkwood the Lakers fell behind early in the first set. The Hawks had control over the match, winning the serve pass game, the scrap game and especially the efficiency game. Overall the Lakers fell 0-3 (15-25, 14-25, 18-25). "We knew this was going to be a team with some pretty strong hitting and serving. They came out and showed they also had a great amount of scrappiness on defense and a solid passing game. We have been struggling to find ways to get our efficiency level up recently. We have plenty of positives happening throughout every match and today was no different, saw some great line shots from our outsides, some solid passing and aggressive serving; but we still need to execute more consistently to beat this type of team and find ourselves in the Regional Tournament," Said Coach Erdman.

Stat Leaders:Kills: Lily Kunselman and Kenzie Lee both had 8 with Kunselman hitting .217; Assists: Jordan Grimes 23; Digs: MaKenzie Uribe and Lorin Turkdogan each had 13, Kenzie Lee add 9 and Lily Kunselman added 7

The Lakers are 6-16 and 1-3 in conference and sitting tied for 9th. The Lakers will head to Sioux City, IA on Thursday September 26th for another ICCAC matchup with Western Iowa Tech Community College at 6:30 pm in the Robert E. Dunker Student Center
