Iowa Lakes Signs Emma Gomez As First Women's Wrestling Athlete

Iowa Lakes Women's Head Wrestling Coach Corey Muniz is proud to announce the signing of the team's first athetle Emma Gomez!

Emma Gomez, a Hemingford Nebraska Native is a two-time state finalist who will be making history for the college, joining as the first offical student-athlete for the institution's newest athletic program. She will be transfering from Wanye State College to join the Lakers in the Spring.

"When I toured Iowa Lakes, I felt like I was at home. I knew that if I was going to continue my academic and athletic path, Iowa Lakes was going to be the place I wanted to be at." said Gomez, who toured the campus eariler this year.

"This is a huge moment in the incredible journey that is ahead!" exclaimed Coach Muniz, "Having signed the first offical athlete really starts to make this whole thing seem real. I am very excited that Emma has decided to join us at Iowa Lakes and I am excited for what the future holds for her and this team!"

 

Iowa Lakes Women's Wrestling is the newest athletic program at the college and is currently building its first team which is set to compete in the Fall of 2023.
