Iowa Lakes opened their dual season with a tough task as they dropped a 46-6 vs 7th ranked Iowa Western.

The Lakers, bit by the injury and sickness bugs, sent out 7 competitive weights, taking only the 131 pound match.

In that match, Holly Garrett won by fall over #12 Ranked Zoie Ortiz in a match that only took 16 seconds.

"Our main focus is getting back healthy now," Said Coach Corey Muniz, "we have some time off then some pretty big competitions, so we are looking to get the squad back to full force and make the most out of our next opportunity."

That next opprotunity will be at home as the Lakers will take on NIACC this upcoming Wednesday the 14th.
